About

The Daphne Dress is a charming blend of Bridgerton-inspired opulence and the cozy allure of cottage core. The Daphne Dress creation reimagines the classic regency era with a sweetheart neck, puffy sleeves and ruffle edging, this Daphne Dress is perfect for those who wish to embrace a timeless, yet contemporary, sense of style.

The Daphne Dress is worked from the top down, in the round, beginning at the neckline and shaping with short rows. The rest of the body is then worked in the round in pattern. Sts are bound off in i-cord at the waist, and then picked up again to work the skirt. An applied i-cord is worked along the neckline and the straps are also worked in i-cord. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round and shaped with short rows and ruffles.

Materials

Suggested Needles

  • , / inches / /cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge. (metal circular needles /)
  • , , / inches , / cm circular needles for the sleeves and neckline. (mohair sections). metal circular needles , / inches)

You can use the same size needles used on the body as on the sleeves and neckline. I wanted a slightly more ‘open’ look in my mohair so opted for the larger needle size. This will not drastically change the gauge of your sleeve or ruffles, and we want it to be puffy anyway!

Suggested Yarn Sample made in size XS with

  • Yarn A - (100 Merino Wool, 80m/87yds, 50g) in Lilac Powder

  • Yarn B - in Light Lavender (25% Silk, 75% Mohair, 210 metres/229 yards).

If you find mohair is an issue to wear, I suggest trying Suri Alpaca blend yarn. This fluffier and will create a more halo look in your work
