Woman's cotton dress with silk  floss style embroidery in a style combining elements from several parts of the North-West Frontier Province and neighboring Afghanistan. The 'phulkari'-type medallions recall the embroideries of Swat and Hazara, while bands of embroidery on the sleeves and the triangular inserts into the skirt suggest contact with Indus Kohistan particularly the  Mangalli nomads of western Afganistan, who were traditionally also to be found on the Pakistan side of the border. This garment having  a rare style skirt with meters of fabric and patch work, the bodice style also of a type found with the Khattak people. Bordering tribes combined style of dress design is much more unusual and have only seen three of this particular style of dress.

See similar embroidery and style of work on page 136-7 of Colours of the Indus Costumes and textiles of Pakistan .
